a tough thing to do

On Sunday Sam and I went to the Mile High Music Fesitval in Denver. Way back in April (seems so long ago now) Sam gave me tickets for my birthday. We were so excited to go because one of our favorite bands, Dave Matthews Band, was headlining and we were going with Brian and Jen...always a fun time at concerts. As Sunday got closer we began to realize how hard it was going to be to be away from our babies ALL DAY LONG. The Rose Family came and picked them up at noon and took them to there house. Both Sam and I had to busy ourselves to keep from crying. It was so weird watching our babies leave the house not in our car. Thank goodness Connie is great and we knew they were in good hands. We hadn't even made it to Denver before Ryan send a text reassuring us they were doing fine. He sent us several updates and a picture of them playing. We started to enjoy ourselves and actually had a fun time...there were about 70,000 people there and it was 100 degrees out but there was great music to enjoy. We ducked out at about 10:30 to beat the crowd of people and got to Greeley close to midnight. Abby and Luke had a fun day and were sound asleep when we picked them up. They even kept sleeping as we moved them into there cribs and didn't wake up until the next morning. We know it is important for us to get out and have time alone so we plan on doing more dates...we have plenty of people eager to babysit...we are just not sure if we will be gone for 12 hours again :) anytime soon. It amazes me everyday how more attached we get and how strong our love for them is. Good thing we have 18 years before they leave for college.
