UNC Chili Cook-off

Sam and his friends Ryan and Brad enter the UNC Chili cook-off every year...and have won it the past five years. They really do have a great recipe and we look forward to the beginning of November every year just for the cook-off. Luke was all about helping daddy this year. He was a great stirrer.
Abby was the leader at preschool the morning of the contest, so I went as the helper and as soon as school was over we headed to UNC and met Connie and the other kids she was watching that day. For a $5 donation you get a spoon and get to taste all the chili you want. You also get a cinnamon roll and a voting ballot. They have green chili and traditional style red chili. I am always disappointed in the red chili...people think they need to do crazy stuff to make their chili good...keep it simple people! Every year the wives (Stacy, Connie and I) say we need to enter with a red chili recipe.
This year Luke and Abby helped Sam behind the table and the crowd loved the chili. The team is now 6 time champs of the UNC Chili Cook-Off!!
Sorry folks, you can't have the recipe but Sam is happy to make it for anyone who comes to visit. Doesn't this look good?
