Girls Day Out

I have been waiting for this day since Sam announced our first baby was a girl...a girls day of lunch, shopping and salon time! Abby really, really needed a haircut/trim. Thanks to the movie Tangled she has wanted to grow her hair super long and wouldn't let us even think about taking her in to cut it. I love her long hair but it was getting raggety on the ends. So, I convinced her that we could go get her hair trimmed at a place where they put sparkles in it, braid it and polish her nails. Worked like a charm...she talked about it everyday. I saw a place in Loveland so I called to make an appointment and they had gone out of business!! That day I called several salons in Greeley and they were all booked. On to plan B...we had to wait a week but we made an appointment at a cute place in "the city" called Pigtails and Crewcuts. It was about 45 minutes away on the north side of Denver, so we made a day out if it. We had a girls lunch at Mimi's Cafe, did some shopping (and discovered a few new stores) and hit up the salon. The lady who took care of Abby was amazing. Treated her like a regular client, not a kid. She asked her if she went to school, who here favorite princess was and what she like to do. Abby ate it up. We got a good trim, a super cute braid that I could never do, glitter in the hair and fingernails polished. With tip it was $30. Not bad at all. I can see more girls days in our future.

Super cute "princess braid"
A girly girl for sure...she sat right down and put her hands out ready to go.
All done...hot pink with glitter on top!
Sporting her new coat! Found it on clearance for $10...I hope it still fits next winter!
