Our first soccer season is over and we are so proud of the growth Abby and Luke made during the season. Sam loved coach and the kids (and parents) loved him. He is so good with kids and it gives him a great reason to forget about work for awhile. The twins called him Coach Daddy.
Some of the shinning moments from the season were:
- Luke dribbling the ball all the way down the field with an open net only to have Abby steal it and score her first goal. Quick thinking coach gave Luke a thumbs up and said great passing so he didn't get too mad and mom ran onto the field and gave Abby a big hug. Hey...this is the girl that didn't want practice or play soccer.
- Luke's smile when he did score a goal.
- Abby stopping the ball with her hands when it was going out of bounds and not listening to the ref's whistle and sitting on the ball so no one would kick it.
- Luke thumbs up-ing mom the entire game or having "Orange Power" to beat the other kids.
- Coming up with animal stretches for warm up.
- Watching only one kid play when three should be on the field only to have the all the rest of the kids running around behind the coach playing chase.
- Watching the smile on the kids and coaches faces when they figured out a new part of the game.

It was such a fun season, the kids learned so much and Sam had the time of his life.
T-ball is up next.
