Yippee!! We are 4!! Since we only have one day to celebrate 2 kids birthday we have to do it up. The twins woke up to streamers and balloons hanging from their doors. We expected two excited kids but Luke was concerned that his voice sounded the same at age 4 as it did at age 3 and Abby was worried her friends would say "Happy Birthday" and it wasn't her birthday yet because we didn't have a party. Whew...after we got over that drama we had breakfast at one of our favorite places, Randy's. Abby ordered pancakes (big pancakes) and Luke had french toast and two sunny eggs. :-) We had a great breakfast morning with lots of birthday wishes. All the retired old men stopped by to say hi...I don't think they get kids very often on a Tuesday morning.
Abby was the leader at preschool that day so mom was the helper. We made cupcakes for snack and were ready for birthday fun. They both got to wear birthday crowns and sit in the birthday chair, where the kids sang the most spirited rendition of Happy Birthday that I have ever heard. Having Connie pick them up from school was tough, we just came off a week of spring break and they were not ready to get back to reality...neither was mom!
After soccer practice that evening we met the Sharps for a birthday dinner at Chick fil' a. The kids played and played some more. It was great to catch up with some wonderful friends on such a special day.
The official 4th birthday was filled with fun and memories. We really can't believe we have twin 4 year olds...they are growing up so very fast!!
