Oh Christmas Tree

Sam and I have had an annual tradition of going to a little farm east of Greeley and cutting down a Christmas tree. We were counting down the days until we could make this trek with the twins. It was a perfect sunny but cool December day and we headed out to the farm. When we got there we saw a family tailgating and eating Frito Pie...oh did we wish we knew them...and had thought of that idea!! Instead of eating we waited by the fire for the trailer to come pick us up for our hayride to the fields.

After a really short ride, they dropped us off and we went trekking through the snow to find the perfect tree. We found the one and Sam used the saw to cut it down while Abby, Luke and I watched.
Then we drug the tree back to the shaking zone. They have a machine that shakes out all the dead pine needles while we got to eat cookies and drink cider. It is a perfect way to spend an afternoon with the family. Now the tree is standing proudly with lights in the living room waiting to be decorated.
