Wading in the Lake

Grandma and I took the twins on a spur of the moment trip to a lake. It really wasn't planned at all but we sure made a fun time out of it. My friend Kelly told me about a really fun park in Windsor by the lake. We decided to go to the park that morning. It was suppose to be a cool day so we were all wearing jeans and t-shirts. After playing at the park for awhile (it was a really cool park) we decided to walk over to the lake to check it out. It had a beach area and there were quite a few kids playing in the water. When we got to the beach Abby and Luke sat down and started taking off their socks and shoes. We thought...ok, let's roll up your pants and go wading. Ha! Ha! Two year olds don't know the meaning of wading...and who cares if you get wet! They were splashing around in no time, soaking wet and loving every second of it. We played for about 40 minutes in the water then dragged them out to change. Of course since this wasn't a planned trip we didn't have towels. We found some grass to sit in, gave them each a cookie and started the process of cleaning up. When I opened our backpack I found swim diapers and swimsuits! Dang it...oh well, I think we had more fun getting wet in our clothes. We want to go back with swimsuits, towels, a picnic and some friends. It is a great little beach close to home.
