Sam knows that I can be quite particular at times and I think he figured out that I will be quite particular on Mother's Day. I had my wish list...nothing big or fancy. I wanted to sleep in (check), a
chai tea (check), picnic lunch (check), fun activity with the
fam (check) and dinner made for me (check). The BEST Mother's Day~all thanks to
my wonderful hubby! It as an amazingly beautiful day so we decided to drive to a farm in Ft. Collins. We heard that they had pony rides and baby animals, the twins love farm animals and Abby has been asking to ride a pony (and a dolphin and sea horse) for months. We made a quick stop at
McAllister's Deli to pick up sandwiches for lunch. The farm is small but perfect for Abby and Luke. We looked at chickens, sheep, goats, cows, pigs and a turkey. Sam helped them feed the goats and sheep, Luke was upset when the big sheep ate his bag of food. We made our way to the ponies to go on our ride. We were pretty sure that Luke would not ride one so we got Abby ready first. When the lady was telling her the names of the ponies she decided that she would ride Freckles...even though someone else was riding him...so we had to wait. In the meantime Luke decided that he would ride Sunny. And he did!! He was a little scared but rode him around for 15 minutes. If you ask him about riding Sunny he will tell you that Sunny pooped, Abby took a picture of the poop. :)

When Freckles was ready Abby screamed at the top of her lungs and did not want to ride a pony. She said that they were too big. She thought ponies were as big as her pet Dexter. Maybe next time. Abby's favorite part of the farm was talking to the turkey. We were not allowed to come near her as she talked to "
Alburturkey" but she told everyone else that he lived in Africa and he lost his babies in the forest.
We had a great picnic lunch, Luke and I played 3 little pigs and built a house out of sticks. Abby played princess and picked every dandelion in sight.

After more farm time we decided to get frozen yogurt and go home. Sam grilled up fajitas and we had a pretty quiet night at home. It really was a wonderful day...I am so blessed to have Sam, Abby and Luke in my life.
