Remember those beautiful fall pictures from a couple posts ago. That was on Sunday...70' and beautiful. Wednesday brought us our first snow storm and it was huge! We had 12.5 inches of heavy wet snow. The sad part was all the trees still had their leaves and many, many tree branches broke. The landscape of some neighborhoods looks so different. We have young trees in our yard so we didn't have major damage, just a few branches fell, and we didn't lose power. Some of our friends lost power for almost 3 days.
The fun part was we had a snow day!! Both Sam and I had the dayoff...yippee! Another bad part was Luke had been running a fever since the day before so he was pretty grumpy. The kids were dying to play in the snow but we didn't have boots or pants yet and it was so cold outside! Around lunchtime Abby and I went to Target and bought boots and snow pants. While we were there she told me that daddies make snowmen and mommies stay inside. When we got home her and daddy bundled up and went outside to make a snowman. I stayed nice and warm and cuddled with a sick Luke on the couch.
After Luke's Tylenol kicked in he was a new kid. Sam bundled up again and took Luke out to play in the snow. He was a happy kid for about 2 hours and then the fever came back but he did get to knock snow off the trees and build a snowman.
