Spring Break Fun

Spring Break 2012 was an old fashioned week of fun.  Sam had to work...boo...so the kids and I made a list and checked off everything we wanted to do.
Day 1-We got our chores done early and went grocery shopping then met some new friends at our favorite lunch spot-Chick fil a!  Afterwards we stopped by Cozy Cow Dairy.  It was the perfect day, cows were being milked and they had two new baby calves.  Kids were thrilled!

Day 2- A day at the zoo with our friend Ryder and his mom Kim.  The kids were so good and had a blast.  We saw all the animals we loved and even got a sneak peak at the elephants new home with the elephants!  We ended the day with an ice cream treat.  After a nice long nap on the car ride home, the kids were rested up to play.

We had a glow in the dark bath with glow sticks! Thank you pintrest.  The kids loved it until the orange one decided to leak..thank goodness they were non-toxic!

Day 3-Mommy's morning out! The kids went to Nonnie's and played with their buddy Matthew while I did a little shopping, got a pedicure and had lunch with a friend.  When I picked them up we went to the nursery (or nursery rhyme as the twins called it) and picked out some flowers for a project we found on pintrest. They were a great help and our planter is amazing!

Day 4- We all needed a jammie day after our busy week and stay in our jammies is just what we did.  We made a mess of the house, watched movies and ate popcorn for lunch.

Day 5- A few people had told me about the Wow Children's Museum in north of Denver.  It is pretty small but tons of fun.  The kids could run around and explore and I didn't have to worry about losing them. We met our buddy Logan and his mom Paula and baby brother for the day.  We played all morning, walked to lunch and played some more.  Abby's favorite was the "pull-up chair" and the bubble maker.  Luke loved the pirate ship and the dress up area.  Abby had 4 different kids listening to her as she directed them in a princess show.  They followed all her "rules" and she even got 3 different adults to come watch the show.  Natural born leader that one.

Bonus Day! Our last furlough day happened on the Monday after spring break and we decided to live it up...after all it was the twins last day being 3! We headed up to Ft. Collins and went to our favorite park for a few hours.  Afterwards we went to Five Guys for lunch-yummm.  Abby had a hot dog and Luke had a hamburger with mayo only.  They ate everything! Then we headed to Jumpin', an indoor inflateable jump place.  The kids both made friends with other kids and played so well while I got to finish a book.
The only thing that could have made our week better was having daddy home with us.  We really had a great time and now are counting the days until summer.
