We decided to spend the day at the San Antonio Zoo. Walking up to the entrance brought back memories of when I was a kid going to the zoo there.
Abby and Luke hung out in the front packs and seem to really like looking at all the animals. Our favorite "attraction" was a monkey named Gibson who escaped from his cage. We were teasing Hayden and Cooper that it was let the animals out day and little did we know it really happened! Gibson is smaller than the other monkeys in his cage and managed to figure out how to squeeze through the openings. He gets out daily so they hired a man to stand there and babysit him. When he gets out the man yells for him to go back in and sprays water on him. Pretty entertaining!! Here is a picture of Gibson before he got out.

It was a very hot day so we stopped for a snack and to cool off. Luke tried cotton candy and loved it! He kept grabbing for the bag for more. A little later we had some ice cream and Abby couldn't get enough. Looks like they are going to have mom's sweet tooth!
After a long day we headed back to the hotel to cool off in the pool. The hotel claimed to have a heated pool but it was quite chilly. Abby and Luke enjoyed it more than mom and dad. The Rose's had some friends come down from Dallas that evening so we all got cleaned up and headed out to dinner...we were starving!
Friday nights on the Riverwalk is busy so we knew we would have to wait at any place we picked with 12 people...little did we know we would end up waiting over 2 hours and still not able to sit all together (we were not pleased with the Rainforest Cafe!!) Sam and I decided it was too late for the twins so instead of eating with the group we went back to the hotel and ordered a pizza...which never came...correction, we ordered it at about 8:30 and it came at 1:30am!! Sam went to the hotel bar to see if they had any food at about 10:45 and they hooked us up with beer, soda and chocolate cake. Our room service food arrived about 15 minutes later and we couldn't have been more excited to eat. It was then that we realized that the only thing we had eaten since breakfast was cotton candy and ice cream.
