Oh Christmas Tree

Our yearly tradition of cutting down a Christmas tree was almost cancelled due to the crazy cold and snowy weather we have been having. It was beautiful Thanksgiving weekend but we were in Albuquerque so we scheduled our trip for the first weekend in December. Luckily we planned it for Saturday...the day between two major snowstorms and fairly warm (40's). Good thing because on Sunday we woke up to about 6 inches of snow and freezing cold weather...that week we had below zero temps in the morning and highs in the single digits. As Luke says...Burrr!
Our trip was the fastest yet, two toddlers don't hold their attention very long in the Christmas tree fields. Luke took off at one point and headed to the dead pumpkin patch. After searching, we found our "perfect" tree and Sam cut it down. We went inside to eat cookies and drink cider then headed home for a long nap while Sam put up our Christmas lights.

The joy of the season is setting in. We love the holidays!

"Dadda...Can we get this one for my room?"
