Zoo Lights

While Grandma and Grandpa Fish were visiting we went to Zoo Lights. Sam didn't join us that night but when he looked at pictures he said it looked cold. Yep...pretty cold that night. The twins love the Christmas lights at our house so we had a feeling that they would love the lights and the zoo and they did. We had them in their stroller with blankets, hats and mittens. We could hear the "oooo" and "igh" as we walked around. To warm up we stopped by the elephant house...best idea. It wasn't crowded so we got to the front and watched the elephant eat for a good 15 minutes. So fun! We kept walking and went to an area where they were playing music. Abby insisted on getting out and dancing.

Here she is dancing away...and this is where things started going downhill. She wouldn't wear her mittens anymore and wanted to walk. Luke got out and took his mittens off too but wanted to be held. Then they both started crying because their hands were cold and they didn't want mittens or blankets!!! AHHH! What is a mom to do but carry her kids and walk fast to the giraffe house to warm up. Thank goodness for Grandma carrying Luke and Grandpa pushing the stroller. Once they warmed up again they did much better but we knew it was time to head to out and eat dinner.

Now I wish I had pictures of the dinner events...Grandma took them so she needs to share. We went to Panera so we could have some soup. The twins had white cheddar mac and cheese and yogurt. Grandma and I got French Onion Soup. After we finished eating the twins decided they were going to eat the soup...and they finished it! It was on the messy side but they had fun. Grandpa was pretty amazed at how well they did eating with the spoon from a soup cup.

We had a really fun night and next year we will drag daddy along...hopefully it will be warmer.
