Could we really be...Potty Trained?!?!
Over Christmas break we decided that since I was home we would get serious about potty training the twins. They had showed interested but we were not consistent. Armed with our sticker charts and big kid underwear we were ready to go. Santa even put new underwear in their stockings...go Santa! Luke was pretty excited and did much better than Abby. He drinks milk like crazy so he constantly had to go potty so we think that made it easier for him. He was off and on for a few weeks and then all of a sudden he wasn't having accidents anymore and we didn't need to remind him. Each sticker chart has room for 20 stickers and he has about 7 of them pinned on the wall of the bathroom, very proud of his sticker charts. He still wears pull-ups at nights and naps but is staying dry most nights. Very exciting! Abby has been a bit more challenging. She would tell us it was too hard and she was scared. Our sitter Connie did a better job just making her sit until she would go. It took her over a month to fill up her first sticker chart. The prize she wanted was lunch with mommy...warm heart feeling. The day we went to lunch we also went shopping, I put on a pull-up just in case. We were reading books at Barnes and Nobel and she said she had to go potty~really bad. So we went to the big bathroom and she went...I was so excited. From then on it was like a light clicked and she is a potty rock star. Anytime she goes she announces it to everyone around and is a happy little girl. We haven't bought a box of diapers since December and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we can stretch the bulk pull-up box so we don't have to buy more!
