Have 3 years really passed since we welcomed Abigail and Lucas into our family? It seems like just yesterday Sam announced that we had a baby girl and a baby boy. Our lives have been filled with so much joy, laughter, adventure and new experiences. Everyday we wake up to new discoveries and learnings. Their energy level amazes us along with their creative spirit. Just today they were playing doctor and gave me "gentle shots", wrapped my owies and then put me in the ambulance. They had me lay down, closed the door and drove me to the hospital saying "wee-woo-wee-woo!" Where they learned that we will never know. They love to build and create. Sam built them a bigger sandbox and they imagination runs wild as they build castles and tunnels. We love watching them grow as little artists with their coloring, painting and drawings. It is heartwarming to listen to them sing along to songs in the car and every night they want us to sing them a song. They pick classics like "The Nothing Song", "The Daddy Song" and "The Princess Song". We actually crack ourselves up coming up with lyrics.
They are so verbal we are having to start watching what we say or not. They are constantly telling us "I lub you momma or I lub you dadda." Awww...Abby told me this afternoon that she lubs her momma, her daddy, her brother, her dexter and her lilly. So sweet. I did get busted the other day when Abby told Sam that he was driving me crazy!! And Luke has picked up on saying "Oh dang it!"
Some days are more trying than others. We battle fighting over toys, saying no, not listening, dealing with tears and whining. It seems so frustrating at the time but looking back, the great things far out way the difficult times. Sam and I are learning and growing as parents and just when we think we have figured something out they go and change again. They keep us on our toes and our wine glasses full. :)
Three amazingly fast years have gone but we have filled them with memories that we will hold on to forever. Thank you Abby and Luke for being our children!! LUB YOU!
