Easter Fun

This year we decided to skip the 45 second Easter egg "hunts" in town and have a quiet Easter morning at home. The night before we colored eggs. We used food coloring from the cupboard and they turned out in amazing colors.

After the kids went to sleep we stuffed old plastic eggs and hid them around the house. It had been pretty cold outside and I was feeling like a wimp so we had an indoor hunt. The kids woke up early as usual but Sam let me sleep in. They waited over an hour for their hunt. Sam said it was really hard for them because they could see some of the eggs.
They enjoyed opening the eggs but didn't really eat the candy inside...we have kids that don't really have a taste for candy. I think they were more excited about the stickers and bouncy balls. Soon they discovered what the Easter Bunny (aka Grandma Fish and Gigi) left them. Grandma Fish did a gardening theme with shovels, rakes and seeds. The twins decided to play garden in the hallway. They dug holes, planted seeds and watered. Then they picked carrots and flowers. It entertained them for a long time.
For Easter dinner we headed down to Sam's cousin Shane's house. He and his wife Megan cooked up a feast for us. The twins played almost non-stop (a quick dinner break) for 5 hours with their cousins. Sam played some cribbage with his cousins and grandma and I took advantage of the twins being busy and chatted with the ladies. It was a blessed day to spend with family.
