Chicago Fun

The day before the wedding Sam had the obligatory groomsman responsibilities so Grandma Fish , the twins and I joined the Callaghan's for a day at Navy Pier. We walked the three blocks from our hotel to the Pier and as soon as week got their the kids noticed the huge ferris wheel and begged to go on it. Jen and I are not fond of ferris wheels but we sucked it up and took our smiling children on the ride. They loved it!! We didn't look down. After a few spins on the carousel we went to the Children's Museum. We got an all day pass so we planned to go for a bit, have lunch and head back. The museum was packed with day cares but the kids still had great time. We convinced them to leave by telling them we would get some ice cream. We strolled along the pier with ice cream and had lunch then went back. We practically had the place to ourselves...it was so nice. Two of our most favorite exhibits were the waterways and the fort building. The forts were incredible. They had chairs, bedposts, doors, knobs, couches, pillows and blankets galore. Luke's fort!
Abby building a block tower in the miniature room.
Luke digging for dinosaur bones.

Abby being silly with Lake Michigan in the background.
A funny mirror makes everyone laugh.
We had a fun day at the Pier but wished Sam could have joined us. That night Abby ate her first Gino's East pizza, the entire slice, at the rehearsal dinner. We know we will be back in Chicago again for more family fun!
