Penn Bake Day 2011

Oh how we love the Penn Family Bake Day...it is a day to bake, eat more than you need to and spend quality time with family. This year, Sam's cousin Shane invited us down the night before to make sugar cookies with his girls. We started off with homemade pizza and Charlie Brown Christmas (Sloopy as A & L call it) then we made gingerbread aprons. Good thing too...there was lots of flour involved in sugar cookie making!
Shane's wife Meagan is great...she doesn't mind the mess and when you have an almost 3 year old, two 3 1/2 half year olds and a 5 year old you are sure to have a mess. They had a blast making the cookies and were excited to decorate them the next day. Then they ran around playing for the next few hours having a great time.
The next day we headed to Frank and Nancy's where the cinnamon rolls and donuts were ready to be eaten! Luke hoped up right away to help Great Grandma frost the donuts...a great job to have. The kids played and decorated their sugar cookies. I made Oreo Truffles, my first try and they were great! We all ate way too many donuts, homemade fries, chili and soup to try us over for awhile.
Seriously...one of the best days of the year!
