When we decided to go to Zoo Lights Sam had a great idea...go before the zoo closes at 4 with our zoo membership and then we don't have to pay for Zoo Lights, plus we get to see the animals. With Grandma and Grandpa Fish in town we found a night that we thought would be perfect and minus the 20mph winds it was. :-) It actually wasn't too windy in the zoo. We had enough time to see some of the animals and watch as the lights start to turn on. Once it was dark we rode the train and carousel and walked around in awe at the amazing lights. The zoo is just so beautiful all lit up. We were meeting some family from out of town for dinner at 7 so we headed out of the zoo before the crowds started showing up. When we got the entrance we realized just how smart Sam is...the lines for tickets reached the parking lot! We must remember that strategy for next year!
We had a great dinner at Sams #3 downtown. It was featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network. Sam and I went there for breakfast on our anniversary and we loved it. It didn't disappoint at dinner either. We were joined by my parents, cousin Becky who lives in Denver, her boyfriend Henry and then Becky's family who was visiting from Indiana. My aunt Marge, cousin Julie, cousin Michael, his wife Lucinda and their cute 2 year old Abraham. It was nice to see them and visit for a bit.
Funny story...as we were about to pull into a parking garage to park Sam spotted a meter spot. After we parked Abby started crying. She wanted us to park in the parking garage because she "loves parking garages!" This was music to our friend Tony's ears...he works for a major parking company. We have a feeling Abby might be a city girl. Whenever we head downtown she has us roll down her window so she can hear the city. She absolutely loves it.
