It has been quite a week at casa de Penn. Abby's ear infections have cleared up and she is back to her normal self. Currently she is blowing bubbles and making noises with her lips...her favorite pastime as of a few weeks ago. We took Luke to the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor to find out what has been causing him to be congested for almost 3 months now. We found out that he doesn't have any structural issues in his nose (thank goodness) but we still don't really know what is going on. We are taking him in for blood work to see if he has a milk allergy. We've sampled a new formula but we can't really tell a difference because he came down with a really bad cold. Adding to the list of things you don't know until you become parents is....that infants can get colds in their eyes. Yuck!! Luke has had goopey eyes for a few days now and a serious runny nose. He is developing a bit of a cough too. It is so hard to see your baby not happy and fussy. The doctor will be getting another call from us come Monday morning.
Besides sick babies, mom and dad have been busy!! Mom is teaching a class to new teachers and dad is officiating high school football and playing softball. It makes for long days but we sure do have fun when we all get home. Here was the twins at dinner one night...
Last Sunday we drove down to Colorado Springs for my friend Paula's baby shower. Our other high school buddy Deanna and her daughter Hailey came up from Albuquerque. It was too bad we didn't have more time to spend together but it was nice seeing everyone. Paula will be having a little boy sometime at the beginning of November and we can't wait!!
