and TWINS!!

OK, so some you may have heard by now, but Team Penn just doubled in size and we now have the beautiful additions we have been waiting for. To all of you who guessed two girls - you are wrong. To all of you who guessed two boys, you are also wrong. For all who thought that we'd have a boy and girl - you are correct! At 12:43pm on Thursday April 17th Abigail Mae Penn joined our team at 5lb 1oz and 18 and 3/4 inches long. Trailing shortly behind her was Lucas David Penn who bolstered our lineup at 4lbs 14oz and 17 and 1/2 inches long.

Next question? How are mom and babies doing? Mom - GREAT! She's been a rockstar and has been able to take on the role of motherhood with the grace we all expected. Abigail (currently referred to by dad as Abby-girl) is doing well eating, sleeping, crying, etc. Lucas is showing us his mothers personality so far, I'll leave it at the fact that he's being stubborn :). Dad and Lucas spent last night in the NICU because he hasn't been able to keep up his blood sugar levels. The staff decided they needed to monitor him closely over night (all female staff and 1 cute boy, you do the math) so dad and Lucas went to the NICU for some bonding time. We expect for Lucas to be out of the NICU by the end of the day today, just going to take him some time to get away from the IV and on to regulating his sugar levels.

We are using this site to describe as much as we can for you all (SEE THE PICTURES BELOW) and would like to welcome anyone that wishes to come visit us. We are in the North Colorado Medical Center room 130 - just look for the proud papa and dotting mom.

Abigail Mae Penn -- 5lb 1oz 18.75 inches long (see 2 pics above)
