36 weeks

We have made it to a major milestone with caring twins. 36 weeks is the "golden week" for development. Of course the longer they stay in the better but we are out of developmental danger zones. Our last appointment on Tuesday was long. We did a non-stress test and an ultrasound. Baby B was of course extremely active during the non-stress test and passed with flying colors. Baby A decided to sleep the entire time, so we had to go back on Wednesday to take the test again. After 40 minutes of no movement from Baby A I drank some apple juice and B started moving. Baby A finally started kicking around after almost an hour on the monitor. Something tells me that A is going to be a little stinker...a boy maybe? I have another one on Monday and I plan to drink a milkshake before I go it to get some sugar in their system!

The ultrasound was great! Baby A is weighing in at 4 lbs. 10 oz. and Baby B is 4 lbs. 6 oz. They put on almost a 1 lbs each in 3 weeks. My quick math told me I have 9 lbs of baby now but Sam said he won't feel sorry for me until I am caring 10 lbs of baby. Hee Hee...I am glad he has a great sense of humor!! We really want them to be born at least 5 lbs each so we are almost there. Our doctor still does not see any medical reason to schedule my c-section or induce me yet so we are just going to wait it out. Baby B is still not head down...and probably won't move that way due to lack of space. Basically we are looking at another 2 to 3 weeks until delivery. Fantastic for the babies...long for me!
