Gobble! Gobble! Tuesday Night
Our first Thanksgiving was quite eventful. We headed down to Albuquerque to spend the holiday with Grandma and Grandpa Fischer, Great-Grandma Fischer, Uncle Dan and Uncle Nick. We had the bright idea to leave Tuesday evening after work and drive through the night so the twins would stay on their sleep schedule. We planned to leave at 4pm and stop in Colorado Springs to visit our friends the Wood's and their new baby Logan. Best laid plans failed an we didn't get out of Greeley until 5:30. The babies slept all the way to the Springs and we had a nice visit with Paula, Aaron, Logan and her parents. Abby and Luke ate and showed off everything they could do while mom got to spend some time with Paula and Logan. He is adorable with brown hair and looked so tiny. It just showed us again how much a baby can change in 7 months. We left their house at 9pm and the twins drank their bottles on the highway and were out for the night. The hard part was that Sam and I had both worked a full day and were exhausted. The drive seemed to take forever and we had to make frequent caffeine stops. We arrived in ABQ at 3am with two wide awake babies and grandparents gushing over them. After playing for a bit and another bottle they were back asleep and we managed to get a few hours of much needed rest before they woke up again...at 6am of course!
